Visit Old Westbury Gardens, NY

Just outside of NYC in Long Island is Old Westbury Gardens, a museum home that is the former estate of businessman John Shaffer Phipps, an heir to the Phipps family fortune. It's a beautiful place to visit. You can get there easily by renting a car, or taking the Long Island Rail Road and then Ubering from the station.

General admission is $15, Seniors and students $13, Children 7-17 $8, and Children 7 and under can enter for free.

The garden grounds are expertly manicured and full of the most beautiful flowers, trees, and ornate art. My personal favorite thing about the museum, though, is the interiors. Every room is preserved in its former 20th century glory and full of antique furniture, linens, and decor. I could spend forever inspecting the details of these.

I highly recommend checking it out for a day out of town. It's a great place to take Instagram photos or take a day trip with your bf on a day date!
