How I designed my website 👩🏻‍💻💞

I love my personal website. For a long time I just had one because I thought you were supposed to, but I was never proud of it. I didn't feel like it represented me as an artist.

Last year, when I got covid and was stuck in bed, I decided to give the site a major overhaul. I chose a basic Squarespace template and customized it with specific fonts, colors, and background images. I based the aesthetic off of girls' computer games from the 90s and Y2K era and the websites we used to make on Angelfire and Geocities.

Even though I know not a lot of people will find the site organically, I'm glad I have it as a hub for all my work whenever I need it. I have a section for my essays, scripts, videos, copywriting, photoshoots I've done, and my bio. I've sent this to prospective clients and gotten booked for work, and at the end of the day, it's just nice to have somewhere on the internet where I can see everything I've done in one place.
