✨Weekend Trip to Crested Butte, Colorado✨🏔

Crested Butte is my favorite Colorado mountain town and a must-visit destination for wildflower watching. While the wildflowers are past their peak, the area has gotten a lot of monsoon moisture this summer so they’re still hanging in there a bit later than usual. If you miss them this year, don’t fret, aspen season is right around the corner and Crested Butte in the fall does not disappoint!😉🍂

🚗Getting There:

From Grand Junction: 3 1/2 hours via Kebler Pass, 3 hours coming through Gunnison

From Denver: 5 1/2 hours via Kebler Pass, 4 hours coming through Gunnison

🍕Where to Eat: @secretstashcb for the best pizza in town. @thelaststeep for casual dining. Ryce Asian Bistro for Chinese takeout. @butte.bagels for bagels, obviously. Tip your servers well!🥯

🏕Camping: Dispersed camping in the immediate vicinity around Crested Butte is restricted to designated sites. You can find detailed information about where to go on crestedbuttemountainbike.com. Some campsites provide access to a toilet, but you should be prepared to pack out all of your waste! There are also a few paid campgrounds in the area that you can reserve on rec.gov.

🥾 Where to Hike: Snodgrass Trail Loop (3.5 miles for the loop, 5.8 miles to the top of Snodgrass Mountain); Rustlers Gulch (9 miles out & back, but you can shave off a mile each way if you have 4wd); Oh-Be-Joyful Trail (13 miles out & back, but you can get great views without hiking that far). All hikes are dog-friendly, please obey leash restrictions!🐶
