my clinical journey in nursing school

Clinical is such a fun part of nursing school! It really builds you as a student and lets you practice your skills hands on. I was blessed with mostly really great clinical experiences.

~nursing home: honestly not very helpful but it did help learn how to communicate with patients.

~ER: this clinical is really what pushed me the most and built the strongest foundation of skills I could’ve asked for, it’s high paced and I felt like I was thrown into the deep end but I learned and grew so much.

~Children’s hospital: my fav!! I loved working with the kids and peds is my fav so I really had so much fun. I also had a great instructor and she really made it great

~Womens’ health: this honestly was a little boring for me, I still loved getting to see all the departments because I had gotten so used to NICU because I work there throughout the last year, but I learned so much and I think I needed this experience to make me a better NICU nurse.

~NICU practicum: I wanted this practicum so bad, and it really has made me feel more confident about starting my NICU residency in May, it is so specialized but I love the babies and it’s always been my end goal.

~Elementary school: this clinical was for my population health class and I thought it would be so boring, but I absolutely loved it. I really am considering pursuing school nursing when I’m older.
