Is color guard a sport? Let’s talk.

Personally, i think color guard is a sport. It is a form of dance that involves a flag. We do intense cardio for an 7-9 minute show while getting 1 minute between reps, and 3 minutes total for a “long break”. We compete against other color guards and bust our tails while doing so. There is a risk of injury when throwing a flag, rifle, or saber. Concussions, busted lips, knocked out teeth, you name it. We usually get mistaken for “band kids” but we’re really like a dance team but with different techniques and moves and props. Color guard requires some form of athletic ability, therefore making it a sport. Where all my guard babies at? 🥰
