Although I was born and raised in Hawai’i, summer is my least favorite season! I absolutely love the cold because I can bundle up and feel cozy. I recently went home to visit my family and realized I don’t even have a swimsuit for the beach! I’ve been hearing so many people talk about Skims swimwear, so, of course, I had to try it!
SKIMS REVIEW
Style: Swim Scoop Neck One Piece
Size: Small
Price: $88
The first thing that came to mind when purchasing was the sizing! I usually like to buy a medium in bodysuits/one piece because it feels more comfortable. I’m typically a size 2-4 for reference.
However, the size guide on the Skims website says their medium is US 8-10. This threw me off because I wasn’t sure how it would fit me, even though I typically prefer sizing up for this style.
I went back and forth for the longest time trying to decide, but I ended up going with the small to play it safe!
Everyone’s body is different, but I felt that the size small was too small for me. The torso was too short so it would either pull down too low on the chest or feel uncomfortable on the crotch area. This is just my personal preference on how I like my swimwear to fit!
FINAL VERDICT:
I would recommend it! I did like the overall look of this piece because it sucked me in and it felt like shapewear. It made me feel confident while wearing it! The quality is actually nice as I prefer a little thicker material for my swimwear. However, I didn’t like the overall fit because of the awkward torso length, but everyone’s body proportions are different! I wish I sized up to a medium, so if I ever decide to repurchase, I’ll size up!
