Sunroom Before & After ✨

I have an obsession with checkerboard floors and I really wanted to incorporate them in our new home! I love rugs, but when I saw the painted concrete in our sunroom, I knew this would be a great place to try something new.

This was actually a really hard project and it took soooo much time, tape, and effort. It was pretty therapeutic to just play a good podcast and spend hours taping my life away, but I also have kiddos to take care of so it definitely took longer than I wanted. If I could do one thing differently, I would’ve made sure to use a gentle tape, as the kind I used lifted. Frog Tape is the best, and I didn’t know about it then!

Anyway, the end result turned out pretty great! The floor in that space is not level, so it is slightly warped, but I think it’s kind of funny and gives this space character. We’ve had it like this for about two years now, and I’m considering tiling it now. What are your thoughts?
