Let’s talk DIAMONDS 💎 $30k vs $7k ?!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share how I decided on MY OWN engagement ring.

✨ Natural or Lab 💎?

- For me personally I prefer a lab grown

- why a lab grown is definitely the price, I don’t really need a ring that costs nearly 30k on my finger🤡 but for those who are very particular of this, it’s your engagement ring so if you like it get it but within your budget of course.

- Me and my fiancé actually only visited two places to choose the ring (cartier & Love & co.).

- For the same exact 4cs that i wanted Cartier was a natural diamond that was about $30k+, Love & co. Is a lab grown which was about $7k+ (we had a discount which bring us to about $5k+ after) As for the how much an engagement should cost 3 months of the guy’s salary i feel is not really true as his initial budget for the engagement ring was wayy more than what it costs but I liked the one i got anyways so MONEY SAVED!

✨ MY SPECIFIC 4cs

- Now fellas listen up I think it’s better to bring your gurlie along for her to choose her own ring( as much as you know for sure what she wants) it’s definitely better to let her try on for sizing and the different cut. Now you’re probably gonna ask then where’s the surprise in that? You can let her get what she truly wants and keep the proposal a surprise. She’s the one that’s gonna be wearing it and showing it off to people🙂

- Since young i’ve always know what Cut I wanted which is a Princess cut with the pave(diamonds at the side) because im not a fan of the normal round 💎.

- As I grow up I’ve slowly researched more on the different type of 💎.

- Carat weight: Is it really the bigger the better right? Not for me actually especially with the princess cut as i have pretty small hands so when i tried on the sample in Love& co. Which was about 1.5-2 carat it looks very unnatural as it’s TOO IN YOUR FACE. I was fine with 0.9 instead of a 1 Cus honestly YOU CAN’T TELL THE DIFF. I decided on a 1.01 carat weight.

- Colour: I was very specific on it being in the D,E,F section but it depends on your skintone as well. That’s why trying on is the best gauge on deciding what looks good. My colour was an ‘E’ colour which i feel is good enough because it’s the same tier and not much diff tbh.

- Clarity: For my Princess cut the clarity didn’t really matter much because of how it’s cut it will still look amazing. My requirements was VVS1-VS2. This was a VS1.

✨ First Try-on experience

- I know i was set on a Princess cut but i did try on the pear/teardrop shape which I wasn’t a fan of but my fiancé was 🤡🤡 BUT THIS ABOUT ME so I was fixated on the Princess cut and ONLY the Princess cut.

- Pave: For the diamonds on the sides you have 3 options. Half, 3/4, full. I went with the half as I didnt want to cause abrasion on the sides of my fingers and the bottom of the ring.

- It was such a fun experience to be customising something that I’ll wear for the rest of my life🥲

- Customisation takes about 3-4months. We went on 19 march and collected it on 28 may so whole process took about 2months ish.

- We got our wedding band together as well. When i saw it on the display I KNEW he will love it cus it was a comfort fit meaning the interior of the ring was a very smooth fit. Furthermore, it matches my engagement ring and he gets a likl diamond as well hehe. We did consider to get the bulgari one but we saw this and instantly fell in love and im not usually a rose gold kind of girl but this was so fitting I couldn’t resist 😂.

- 💰 Price:$10k for both the engagement and wedding band which i feel is a pretty decent price.

✨Collection day!

- imagine the horror i was facing when i tried it on and it was loose 🤡🤡🤡 both the engagement and wedding band.

- This is on me and not the store because within that 2 months ish i did lost a bit of weight thus it was loose to the point where once i shake my hands it just dropped out🥲.

- The exchange policy they have is once within 30days.

- I changed the sizing for my wedding band and luckily they have the size i needed in store.

- As for my engagement ring, I decided to not resize it as i was afraid that we’re planning to have a baby within the next year. My fingers would be swollen thus the SA recommended me to put this coil for a temporary solution and that I do not need to resize because once you go down size you can’t go back up 🤡. Furthermore, this coil protects the base of my ring which is a plus point for my work. It doesn’t feel weird and it’s actually pretty comfortable so life hack right there gurlies❤️.
