Unpopular opinion: don’t use fresh floral decor

Every bride has different priorities when it comes to wedding planning.

Mine was definitely gowns and makeup! But when it comes to flowers, $12k minimum spend of fresh floral decor? Hell nahhhh!

Unless you are planning for having your guests bring home little bouquets from your fresh floral decor, tbh, does anyone even touch these flowers? They are simply fillers for your beautiful wedding photos and trust me, no one can tell if they are fresh or fake. 🤭

One of the less popular tips from wedding planners are: opt for fake flowers! 🌷

Just 50% of the florals being faux flowers will significantly reduce the cost as it is unbelievably expensive, especially if brides want specific seasonal flowers (e.g. peonies). If like me, you are not too fussy about flowers, this is such a great tip to have!

I spent maybe 10% of my time for planning sourcing out decor vendors. After receiving multiple quotes from different vendors who does provide faux flowers, I decided to set a budget and when I chanced upon my vendor, I simply asked if they could deliver what I needed based on an inspiration photo within that budget. Thank goodness, they could!

On top of these, their service was impeccable. Delivery and transfer of decor was included, they initiated site visits, gave wonderful suggestions when I expressed concerns for my second march-in as the bridal room has ugly doors for the march-in entrance visible to the whole room, and provided extra stage lights when I requested for them last minute with a minimal top up.

Overall I was very satisfied with the end results and it took so much weight off my shoulders as I was quite disappointed with the bare minimal decor the venue provided. Most of all, it was one of the best decision I made to keep my budget in check.
