perfect modern jap set menu fit for occasions 🥳

it was my bestie’s bday & we love jap so i set out the find the perfect #dinner spot 🥳🧐

i found the dinner set menu at tanoke to be exactly what i was looking for from the sashimi starters, wagyu for main & tarts and sorbet for dessert! ✨ it was $198++ for 2 which i thought was reasonable 😌 and i’ve also been to kabuke before which is opened by the same owner so i knew it would be good 😋

the staff were super friendly & nice & even played a bday song for my friend 🥹

this was the first dish served & already it came with a twist! the yellowtail was served with trufflesss 😍

i absolutely loved this 💯 the tofu was sooo soft & the mayo crab was just so yums i wanted more 🤤🦀

𝔀𝓪𝓰𝔂𝓾 𝓶𝓪𝓻𝓶𝓪𝓵𝓪𝓭𝓮 𝓽𝓸𝓪𝓼𝓽

it’s hard to pick a favourite but i can’t help how much i like this 🥹🥹 on top of the focaccia was a slow-braised wagyu with a burst of yuzu flavour 💥🍋

𝓼𝓹𝓲𝓬𝔂 𝓶𝓲𝓼𝓸 𝓷𝓪𝓼𝓾 𝓭𝓮𝓷𝓰𝓪𝓴𝓾

crispy skin & soft inside, they managed to make eggplant taste soo good 😳 it was topped with nori crispy rice!! the only thing i would say is this dish is superrr oily which i’m not the biggest fan of 🫣

𝓪4 𝓴𝓪𝓰𝓸𝓼𝓱𝓲𝓶𝓪 𝓻𝓲𝓫𝓮𝔂𝓮 150𝓰

this was our main but you could also choose tenderloin for +$10 or a 3-cut wagyu platter for +$20! we went with ribeye cause it was the least fatty 🤭 and of all course, 0 complains. super. good. 🥩

or lychee sorbet or matcha pannacotta — soo unique! ✨ but i’ll choose tarts > anything 🥧 this was quite gelat but i finished it 🥴
