I buy a ton of nail products from Amazon, and everything you see here can be found there. These items are reasonably priced, and even better if you can catch them on a Prime Day deal!💰
Here’s what I recommend for a gel x starter kit:
1. A full size UV/LED lamp
2. A mini lamp - for flash curing. Note: Mini lamps are not strong enough to fully cure your gel products. If you purchase one, you will still need a big lamp too!
3. Nail glue gel - it says “glue” but it’s gel. Note: This is not the same as traditional nail glue, and it is not used the same way.
4. A cuticle pusher
5. A cuticle nipper - this isn’t required if you don’t intend to clip off dead skin.
6. Gel x tips - these come in all different sizes, lengths, and shapes.
7. Nail files
8. Buffing blocks
9. Lint free wipes - I use these with a bit of alcohol to wipe the nails between steps.
10. Alcohol - for disinfection and removing the sticky layer of gel products. I also use this during nail prep in place of dehydrator.
11. Protein bond - helps adhesion and retention of your nail enhancement.
12. E-file - I mainly use this for removal. Though not required for gel x application, it does help blend the cuticle area of the extension to the nail.
13. Gel polish set - the set pictured comes with 20 mini polishes and a full size top coat, matte top coat, and a base coat!
**Add acetone to this list for removal of your gel products. I use it to clean my brushes too!
I hope this helps you get moving on your gel x journey! Happy painting 😊
