hello lemon8 🍋~ today’s post is a little different from my usual content because its going to be a ✨STORY TIME✨

ive been getting a lot of questions about how me and my boyfriend of close to 9 months met and the story behind us getting together 😗 ask and you shall receive ~

🖋️ cue the friends to lovers trope 🖋️

🎬 scene 1: encounter

as the title suggests, we were friends for a period of time before we started going out! funnily enough, i was in a sort of situationship during that period of time (but it ended shortly after) so there was really nothing romantic going on between us 😮‍💨 we were just friends that loved to eat, drink, and blabber nonsense together HAHA

🎬 scene 2: intuition

i think the point where i started to suspect that we weren’t wholly platonic was when we started to talk both on text and on call excessively, he would make time to meet me on the weekends although he only had one other day to spend as a civilian, and all in all we seemed to apportion a good amount of energy on each other 🫣

🎬 scene 3: confrontation

i was so confused that (in a tipsy state) i asked him whether or not he was interested in me, to which he confessed that he WAS interested but that he didn’t quite have it fully figure out either because he wasn’t prepared to commit to an ns relationship 😤

🎬 scene 4: consolidation

shortly after that conversation, we met again and i also discussed the pros and cons of us getting into a serious relationship, and especially on my part i was concerned because i was entering uni soon and realistically, there are guys who you will interact more with and interest might blossom! we left it at “take your time to think about it” 😶

🎬 scene 5: space

i then went on a 3-week vacation with my family, which proved to be fantastic because i had that time apart from him to really think about it (although we did still keep in close contact) and it was on this trip that i realised i really did like him and was leaning more and more into the idea of dating him 😣 of course i still had many concerns, but they seemed to pale in comparison to the lost opportunity of what was a promising relationship 😔

🎬 scene 6: closure

so when i came back, he surfaced the question again, to which (after a LOT of deliberation) i said yes! 🎉 and the rest you all know - we’ve been together for 3/4 of a year and i can safely say its been such an edifying and loving relationship - not that we don’t still have our rough patches but we always overcome them logically and reasonably 🥰
