CHEAP Kaoyu place with GOOD desserts too 🥵

Kao Ge Yu recently opened a second outlet at East Village and I was shook when I saw that prices start from $18!! While places like Chong Qing or Tan Yu specialise in grilled fish, I find them a little expensive ($40ish per fish if I’m not wrong).

Unfortunately, they ran out of their Signature Sichuan Green Pepper Grilled Fish so we got ourselves the Chong Qing Grilled Fish and added on some ingredients. The dish itself wasn’t too spicy, probably between a xiao la and zhong la? I really liked how we could add ingredients such as enoki mushrooms, maggi, tofu and so on.

The century egg tofu dish felt very “clean” compared to the oily fish and was a good balance to the entire meal.

THE DRINKS AND DESSERT THO 🥵 both drinks were so so good!!! Not too sweet and they used fresh fruits for both drinks. & sounds like I’m exaggerating but if they had a stand-alone dessert store, IT WOULD BE BOOMING WITH BUSINESS. The dessert was super refreshing!!

Trust me this place is worth a try! Even if you don’t eat spicy foods/kaoyu, you definitely have to head down to try their drinks and desserts.
