Hello! I'm would like to share my journey of being accepted into a University in Japan (Ritsumeikan), specifically their English-based course. For those interested, here's my experience:
Why Ritsumeikan?
ππ―π΅ε€§ιͺ
Initially, I aimed for universities like Keio or Waseda. However, Ritsumeikan's offering of a double degree with the Australian National University captured my attention. For those who are worried about having 0 Japanese background donβt worry, once you enrol theres Japanese lessons from beginner level.
πApplication Process:
I applied using my Diploma from Republic Polytechnic and supplemented it with the Standard Assessment Test (SAT) score of 1140/1600 (not the highest, but sufficient). As a Singaporean, English proficiency requirements were waived due to English being our first language.
πΈFees:
Application Fee: Approximately SGD $100
Total Course Fee for 4 years: SGD $60,000-70,000 (inclusive of a 20% scholarship)
π£οΈProcedures:
First Round of Interview: Conducted online, involving essay writing and answering questions.
Second Round of Interview: Zoom interview, where a preparation question was given 1-2 weeks prior.
Scholarship Determination: Based on performance in the second interview.
Wishing good luck to everyone searching for overseas universities!
