Tufting my own rug in JB! Prices + Full Review 🤍🧶

I’ve been wanting to try tufting for a while now but it’s so expensive in sg! So I took the chance to tuft my own rug in jb 😌 Here’s everything you need to know!

• Group Promo: 40x40cm for 6pax — 169RM/pax but they allowed some of us to upgrade to 70x70cm at 239RM/pax (also a group promo price)

• Personally took the 70x70cm one!

• Unlimited colours

• 3h session

• Prebook through their ig!

• Send across your chosen design before the session & they will outline it on the canvas for you

🤍 The Experience 🤍

Choosing our colours

• The 6 of us were the only ones at the studio during our session

• Started off with choosing our colours & placing the ones we wanted into our own little trolley shelves

• They were oos for a lot of colours……. wanted a cream & pink or dark brown rug and ended up with a hot pink and light pink barbie-esque rug instead because of this

• The shade selection is quite wide but there just wasn’t enough of a shade and some basic shades like black and white were oos/had too little left

Tufting!

• The instructor taught us how to load & handle the tufting gun before letting each of us try it out (making straight lines)

• As we started off tufting our own rugs he came around to give us advice on how to improve

• My bf wanted to try doing the curved lines so another instructor came to teach him individually when he got to that part! I thought it was pretty good that there was more than one instructor there since we were a pretty big group

• After we were done with all the vertical lines (& curved lines for my bf) the instructor came around to help us do the difficult part which was outlining each of the diffierent parts of the rug — mine was apprently pretty difficult because I was supposed to outline each checkered box and my checkered boxes were wavy

• Then we tufted horizontal lines across to make our rugs fluffier! The instructor was also constantly checking on us through the process to make sure things were going smoothly

The Studio

• The space was really spacious & there were spots to take pictures too

• They also provided us with tripods so that we could take a timelapse/video of ourselve tufting!

After the session, the studio will take our rugs to finish them up (clean them up, put a backing on etc) and you’ll be able to collect them/have them shipped to you after about a month :) Overall it was really fun!!! It’s a good activity for friend groups & couples! I would totally do this again 🥹
