1. Your beauty sponge is too wet! Squeeze it properly with a towel. Or don't use it if you apply silicone based foundation! Sponges are great when they are squeezed properly ©5).

2. Too much pressure. Use light pressure applying foundation with a brush. Heavy handed application usually needs more foundation and looks more cakey. Try to be light handed.
