A Hearty Meal at Seoul’s #1 Ginseng Chicken Spot 🍲

Dubbed as Seoul’s most famous Ginseng Chicken Soup, you can expect to encounter snaking queues and exorbitant prices for Tosokchon Samgyetang’s bowls of nourishing soup.

We arrived on a Monday at around 1.30pm. Yes, there was a long queue, but it only took about 15 minutes before it was our turn! One thing I noticed in Korea is that even though queues may be quite long, they usually move very fast!

Sipping on the warm chicken soup in the hanok interior made everything feel so homey, and was such a comforting meal to have in the cold winter. I’m not the biggest fan of ginseng, hence I was pleasantly surprised to find that the ginseng taste was barely noticeable.

📝 We ordered their Ginseng Chicken Soup, Ginseng Chicken Soup with Wild Ginseng Roots, Black Ginseng Chicken with Wild Ginseng Roots and Seafood & Green Onion Pancake.

🍲 The soups were all very hearty and thick with flavour, and the chicken was stuffed with glutinous rice, chestnuts, ginkgo, and other nutritional ingredients. One bowl will definitely fill you up! We also ordered the Seafood & Green Onion Pancake but I felt that it was too eggy for my palate. They were quite generous with the seafood though, you could see the chunks of squid in it.
