Study Tips from a graduate student

I recently started my graduate program. I have been out of school for 13 years now. I am in my 30s. So getting back into the groove of school has been a little difficult. I have four tips to help you study.

1. Check to see if there is a learning objectives or competency section. You can look at to know what you were looking for and what you should learn.

2. Take notes the way you are going to look back at them. For example, I will look at my notes if they are colorful I like to write my notes handwritten. Some of you may like to type these if I were to type them, they would also be in color.

3. Print out anything that is going to help you. I am a visual person and need to have things printed out so I can check mark them off or highlight.

4. The most important thing is finding a nice quiet place where you can concentrate. A place where you will have no distractions. For me it is coming in to my work office over the weekends. I do have permission to be able to do this and it is so nice that my employer allows me to
