How I budgeted $20 at Aldi for work week lunch

This week I have set aside a $20 budget for lunch. We will have lunch provided on Monday for our staff meeting meeting. This means I only have to worry about four days to create some lunches and snacks. These are the way I stay within my budget when going grocery shopping.

1. I make a list of everything that I am going to need.

2. I plan out the meals to make sure that I grab everything I need from the grocery store. I don’t bring things that I already have like condiments or seasonings.

3. As I’m walking through the aisles, I check things off my list and also write down each price.

4. I stick to the list and do not grab anything extra.

5. Before I get to check out, I do the math on my phone and make sure that I am not going over my $20. In this case I went over 93 cents but that was ok for me!

I believe that these steps keep me in my budget. It prevents for me grabbing extra things that are not needed for the week. It also makes a huge difference when you plan your meals and your budget. Follow me so you can see the rest of the week went with the planned meals.
