i’m sure we’re no stranger to the plethora of japanese food options in sg🤤 personally, tempuras🍤 are one of my fav japanese dishes & tendons🍛are bound to satisfy your tempura cravings while elevating your experience with their signature sauce🧂🤯 here’s a breakdown of 3 tendon restaurants that i’ve tried & one of these might just be your next dinner place😉

💌Tendon Ginza Itsuki ($14.90++ for special mix tendon)

location: tanjong pagar

👉🏻the special mix tendon here is hands down my favourite tendon ever

👉🏻 freshly fried right in front of you, you can be sure to expect a gently battered bowl of goodies ranging from your standard prawn & veg to even tender chicken breasts & half-boiled eggs (it’s insane how the egg yolks are actually still runny after being fried🤯)

👉🏻honestly, sooo value for money considering the portion of the tendon & other sides included (chawanmushi, pickled cabbage & miso soup)💰💰

💌Tenya ($8.90++ for tenya tendon)

location: 313 somerset

👉🏻hands-down the most affordable tendon i know of

👉🏻the portions are seemingly lesser than the rest (i opted for less rice in d 2nd pic) but i would say that the variety of tempura is still not bad for the price ranging from prawns & veg to even squid & red fish

👉🏻for $4-7 more, you can also opt for their set meal which comes with udon/soba!

💌Akimitsu ($16.90++ for signature tendon)

location: Takashimaya

👉🏻a lil on the expensive side compared to others on the list considering that this only came with miso soup but to be fair, they had 3 prawns instead of 2🥲🥲🦐 but the rest was veg that i didn’t rlly like xp

👉🏻their tempuras had a thicker layer of batter if you like more of a crunch

👉🏻the bowl also came with a meagre serving of sauce so it was p bland ngl would appreciate it they provided the sauce & chili powder for customers to add on more

👉🏻personally, i didn’t feel that it was worth it🙊

overall, my fav ought to be Tendon Ginza Itsuki bc of how value for money it is & the quality & variety is just so🤌🏻🥰 Tendon is a good alternative if you’re looking for a more affordable option in town
