Stepped into a gym for the very first time in my 22 years of living and here’s my takeaways after 3 sessions so far (major major props to my friend for guiding me and making sure I don’t injure myself 😂cuz I am an ABSOLUTE newbie to this)
1. I love how I get to train specific muscles :0
I’m a dancer and runner, and in school I played almost every sport I could try! Whilst that’s fun, I’ve come to admire and appreciate the focused training of specific muscles in the gym. And in turn, I saw that it has had a positive impact on my dancing 👀❤️ The Barbell Ballerina on Instagram was one of my motivators to hit the gym to try to improve my ballet work💯
2. It’s been so welcoming :)
Maybe I got lucky with the gym I’ve been visiting, but so far it’s been quite a positive experience. People are nice to each other and I saw strangers helping each other out too.
3. I am, so, weak🥹🥹
I was instantly humbled and shocked at how little I could lift (2kg dumbbells) given how I could carry my 20kg sister around everyday at home😂😂then I learnt that carrying kids is very different from training muscles 💯
Overall, I’m excited to keep going! I see that it has a positive impact on my daily life and yep - seeing myself get toned is pretty sweet 🙈👀
