After exploring the northern part of Jeju island, we decided to venture down to the southern city of Seogwipo! Apparently, the seafood here is really fresh as the port where the fishing boats dock at is really near. We ended up trying a restaurant which serves a set course of their local seabream after looking at their reviews online. The menu was all in Korean and we decided to go with the 220,000 KRW set for 3-4 people (~S$220). Here is what was included:

Starting off with the appetisers, there were 9 different seafood dishes, each of which tasted really interesting! The portion was honestly already a lot and felt like a meal by itself. Next, we had seabream sushi, followed by a MOUNTAIN of seabream sashimi. While it might feel like too much to serve for a single type of seafood, each cut came from a different part of the fish which made the texture and taste different!

Up next were the hot dishes. We had some prawn and pumpkin tempura, as well as a seafood hotpot which was so satisfying as the rich broth washed down the rest of food we ate. As though we weren’t full enough, we were served with steamed abalone, seaweed fried rice, and a fried fish. Overall, we think the price was okay considering the amount of food served (maybe a bit on the high side considering it was not a touristy location), but we definitely felt like we experienced the seafood cuisine of Seogwipo and Jeju island!
