Authentic Japanese tea experience in Tokyo

Shoutout to all tea lovers!! This is a small tea house hidden in Ginza's Matsuya Department Store basement and it's storefront sells high grade Japanese tea. I was so excited to come across this place while souvenir shopping on my last day and was super lucky they had seats for us in 15mins.

There are 3 different teas to choose from - 1. green tea 2. roasted tea 3. matcha. We got all 3 to try and they were all really good! I recommend getting the matcha because the tea master makes it in front of you and it takes skills to release the perfect umami flavour. The matcha was frothy and decadent at the same time, and to cleanse your palate, they also serve a sakura tea which is a sakura flower in hot water, making the experience a really unique one.

They also serve the tea with some small bites which are made from seasonal ingredients. I was there in October which was chestnut season so we had some chestnut bites. Different teas also come with different bites so do check with them if you are particular about the ingredients!
