Lessons Learned in 2023

This post is actually doing to get pretty personal but I hope these lessons this year that I have learned will also benefit you in your own life.

1. I don’t need friends

Yes yes, I already know how depressing this sounds… but it’s 100% true. I don’t need friends to be happy and neither do you. I’ve tried making new friends, was even crying over it towards the beginning of the year because I felt lonely and like no one was there for me to vent to (other than my man but we all know talking to girls about things is different). I finally realized that the girls I was trying to befriend were very fake and wouldn’t have my back if I needed it, which isn’t worth it to me. SOOOOO I stopped trying to make friends and decided to go with the flow instead and I’ve learned to appreciate my alone time. Instead of being “lonely” I use that time to journal and work on improving myself.

2. I don’t need approval. While approval is nice, I’ve realized that I don’t need other people’s praise to be proud of myself and appreciate the growth I’ve accomplished. Even if others don’t appreciate the steps I’ve made to become better, I do.
