impress your date with some pizza and wine 🍕🍷

I’ve heard many good reviews about Blue Label Pizza & Wine on lemon8 and when my friend jio-ed to dine there after work, I was pretty hyped about it! I’m a huge pizza lover (pizzas over pastas man 🤪) and was looking forward to trying the raved pizzas and sides. 🍕

Before entering the restaurant, this place already gives off chill vibes as it’s located by an alley, which kinda reminded me of underground stores in Korea. The interior was dark and moody, which was bustling with chatter and laughter amongst the tables. 🗣️

We reserved a seat beforehand and was given the centre bar table, which felt a lil awkward as we were right smack in the middle of the restaurant. There was also another group seated on the same table beside us but thankfully separated with a seat between us. 😮‍💨

Since we didn’t wanna drink, we got the Arnold Palmer, Salted Lime Soda and the Grapefruit Soda ($7 each) to start. The drinks weren’t anything special, but were a good refresher to the cheesy pizzas. 🥂 We also shared a Blue Label House Fries ($25) which is a lil expensive for fries but omg it was SO GOOD. The fries were fried to perfection and drizzled in this flavourful sauce and topped with a runny egg. 😋

🐙🍕Summer In San Sebastián ($39) - Chorizo ragu, hokkaido octopus, espelette chili, aioli

Was pretty excited about this pizza but it was pretty underwhelming. It came in a slightly spicy sauce but the disappointing thing was that the toppings weren’t what I expected. Did not taste the octopus at all and overall, I definitely had better pizzas out there.

🧀🍕 The Original Famous ($32) - Five cheese blend, tomato, fresh basil

This is a must get for cheese lovers as you can really taste the different types of cheese (or even smell it). For non-cheese lovers, this can come off a little strong especially since the cheese smell is quite pungent. 🤢 I expected a bigger cheese pull and the cheese on this was less clumpy and hence there wasn’t much of a pull.

💭 Overall, I would say my experience was pretty underwhelming though I love the vibes and the friendly staff here. Perhaps we ordered the wrong pizzas but I would say the pizzas we tried weren’t AMAZING for me. 😥
