Was searching for affordable food in town for a dinner #withmybesties and found this recommendation on Lemon8! I’ve heard about this place a few years back when it was all the hype and so I decided to give it a try. And yes, I’d say it’s worth the hype! 👍🏻

Established in 2012, 49 Seats is a local restaurant known for its affordable fusion style dishes such as Tom Yum Seafood Pasta and Salted Egg Popcorn Chicken. Did you also know that they’re the first in Singapore to create Fish & Chips with Tom Yum sauce too? 🤩

📍 The place is pretty spacious and has a metallic industrial aesthetic, and the wall filled with silver equipments. We went on a weekday evening after work and there were a few tables other than us.

💭 I got the Fish & Chips w Alscampi sauce ($19.90) and it was so good! I love that the sauce came in a soup-like portion and had generous portions of seafood (prawns & mussels). You get to choose two sides of your choice and I got the garden salad and mashed potatoes! 😋 Overall, it was a very satisfying meal and my friends who got the Tom Yum sauce version agreed it was good too!
