I went on a pretty serious bulk last fall/winter and I put on a lot of muscle but also a lot of body fat. Coming into summer I really wanted to cut and be able to see all the muscle definition I had worked for. My plan was to be cut during the summer time but that didn’t exactly happen. The picture on the right was taken only a few days ago and it’s September. This process was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be and took a lot longer to start seeing real results.

When I first started my cut I was tracking macros and calories but it got to be too much and too overwhelming for me to continue to do. I started seeing a lot of fitness influencers talking about the animal based diet and how it helped them “naturally stay lean” I wanted to give it a try. I started the animal based diet about 3 months ago and that it when I started noticing serious results. I haven’t been tracking any macros, and I have been practicing intuitively eating. Some days I will eat 3 regular meals a day and others only 1 with smaller snacks throughout. I’ve been listening to my body and fueling it when I need to. This has worked wonders for me and I think is truly the best way to do a cut.

The other part of my cut was to increase calories burned through walking. I average 10-15k steps a day and recently that has been very easy to maintain because it’s been so nice outside and I love going on walks.
