this private dining experience ruined me 🥲

This completely ruined every other meal I would have after because it was so damn good. The entire experience, from decor to food to the conversations, exceeded all expectations especially since I thought it would get pretty awkward from it being too intimate.

Ok so the menu is decided by the chef, so it’s something like omakase but they are currently offering a teochew-inspired menu so you roughly know what kind of flavours you would be tasting during your private dining experience with Chef Jesper. You can also communicate with the chef via whatsapp after you’ve made your booking about any dietary preferences and restrictions (we told him that some of us can’t eat beef so he prepared another dish for those who are beef-less)

The menu I tried was Japanese-inspired and I’m so glad I was alive to have tasted this 9-course meal. I won’t go too in-depth into the details of each dish because you definitely won’t be getting this menu now but here are some of the highlights:

- crab dish with dashi and ikura – didn’t know i came here to swim among the sea creatures

- chawanmushi – jesper was definitely flirting when he gave us uni

- arancini – would gladly stuff this up my ass 99 times

Anyways, my grandpa approves of Chef Jesper and he is a very picky eater so give Woodear private dining a shot!
