Okay, so I've been gatekeeping this app called Oldroll for the longest time. It's an iphone app that produces super pretty film like photos with a lot of different film camera options. I've always been a big fan of using disposable film cameras, but using Oldroll has definitely made me rethink my preferences.

On one hand, the film camera does give a more authentic and vintage vibe to the photos. However, there's also the uncertainty of not knowing what you're taking and whether the moment will even be captured. With the iPhone app, you have unlimited takes and can immediately see the results, which is definitely a plus.

But here's the thing - I recently took a trip and only had one roll of film to use for my camera. It was a real struggle to ration out the number of takes over my trip, and I lowkey regretted not taking more shots in places that I had already passed because I ended up with extra shots to spare.

BUT I still really enjoy the mysteriousness of using a film camera and the surprise that comes with developing the pictures. It's like opening a present and discovering the contents inside and is something that cannnot be replicated by a phone. So, I may be a little biased towards the disposable camera, but Oldroll has definitely opened my eyes to the convenience of using an iPhone app for photography.
