GUYS, I j wanna start this by saying this was the SINGLE thing I had on my personal itinerary in Vietnam, and afterwards my friend shaded me for not being a planner, yo literally, I made a reservation for this place FOUR WEEKS in advance (THAT REQUIRES A LOT OF FORESIGHT OK PLS IM SO BUSY). I J didnt care to do anything else and was happy to tag along the rest of my the trip. Anyway, we are still friends dw😗

I have been hearing of the legendary Anan, which is featured in Asia’s best 50 restaurants and thought I NEED TO GO. I would probably regret and beat myself up if I didnt go. Did it break my wallet, yes, was the wait time for between courses a lil too long for comfort, also yes, but boi, I had no regrets.

Anyway, I got the Saigon tasting menu for $60+USD which added up to slightly over $100SGD! Well I already mentally prepped myself to spend that amount so it wasn’t so bad (ig…). I was excited for it because the vietnamese food scene in Singapore is lacking and even more so for a vietnamese rendition on fine dining!! IT WAS A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE I COULDN’t MISS AS A FOODIE!! VISITING HCMC!!!!

Guys I know you expect me to give you a break down of every dish but both you and I know we have better things to do BUT TRUST ME EVERY ITEM WAS GOOOOOOOOOOD, but in the menu I got, these were my favourites (look at the menu in the second pic)

🇻🇳Cha Ca Ha Noi

THIS IS SUCH A TENDER PIECE OF COD. AND THE DILL SAUCE???!!!!! It has been somewhat aerated, either through intense whipping or an espuma, but the foam was delightful with floral notes from the dill. WAH I COULD LEGIT SWIM IN IT, accompaniments of crispy rice cake and rice cracker added a nice touch too.

🇻🇳 Salmon Banh Nhung

This was essentially a tart using the CNY HONEYCOMB CRACKER. Thats so brilliant. Its filled w some creme fraiche and salmon roe, delight in every. single. bite.

Anyway, really eye opening for myself because we really dont get much exposure to vietnamese food here in SG (besides s*ph*) much less fine dining vietnamese food, super interesting and 101 PERCENT recommend.
