Welcome back angels 😇
During my weight loss journey, I tried out many different kind of diets, some worked and some did not and even caused discomfort and binge eating.🥲🥲🥲
Here’s my personal sharing for the diets I tried!
1. Intermittent Fasting:
Intermittent fasting means limiting the eating schedule, to a specific timing (eg. 16-8, eating within 8 hours and fasting for 16 hours).
✅ Pros:
-Easier to stick to their calorie goals during their eating windows, which may result in weight loss.
-Improve insulin sensitivity and support cellular repair.
❌ Cons:
-Challenging at the beginning.
-Might experience irritability, low energy, or difficulty concentrating during fasting hours.
2. Keto Diet:
Basically this diet cuts down carbs entirely, and only eats other kinds of food, mostly on protein and fibre.
✅ Pros:
-Rapid weight loss due to the shift in metabolism to ketosis.
-Helps to control blood sugar levels and reduce hunger due to the increased fat and protein intake. -
-Increased mental clarity and energy levels once they've adapted to ketosis.
❌ Cons:
-Gets hungry faster
-Transition period can be uncomfortable.
-Only suitable for the short term, as it may cause nutrient deficiencies.
3. 2 Meals A Day Diet
This Is very much like intermittent diet but, just having two meals a day, without restriction of time.
✅ Pros:
-Easier to control portions and might help prevent excessive calorie intake. You'll have longer periods of fasting between meals, potentially giving your digestive system a break and allowing your body to burn stored fat for energy.
❌ Cons:
-Must be very consistent & strong self control
-Hard to achieve balanced and nutrient-rich meals
4. Lite Meal Plan
Lite meal plan is one of my favourite kinds of diet! It focuses on moderation, making it a sustainable choice for long-term healthy eating.
✅ Pros:
-More flexible on food options, so it feels less restricted.
-Taste and looks delicious (I feel having a better appetite)
-Can achieve balanced and nutritious diet
-You can still enjoy your favorite treats, but in smaller portions.
❌ Cons:
-Slower progress compared to more restrictive diets.
-Without careful planning, it's likely to consume too many calories even with lighter meals.
-Might costs more than other kind of diet
🌟Currently, I just stick to lite meal plan & intermittent fasting, switching it according to my body condition. Both of them are easier to follow and also workable for a long term diet. I also have cheat day once a week and do workout consistently.
Remember, what works best for you depends on your individual preferences, lifestyle, and health goals. It's always a good idea to consult a professional before making significant changes to your diet.
Till next sharing!
