the question that WOW-ed my interviewers 🤩

i just started my first job and decided to share my little trick that (i believe) impressed quite a few of my interviewers! 🤭 some of my previous supervisors even told me that they selected me for the internship bc this question made me stand out from the other candidates! 🥹🥹

🚨the question is: what do you like about working at ___? (fill in the blank with the company youre interviewing at)

➡️ why i asked this?

- helps you get a sense of what the culture is like in the company (how are the people, OT culture?)

- tells you abit about what kind of work youll be doing there (is it mundane or dynamic and interesting)

- get a sensing of how your interviewer is like as a person (impt especially if theyre your direct reporting officer!)

- gets your interviewers thinking about how they wanna attract you into the company as well! (interviews should be a two way thing! not only are they choosing you, YOU GET TO CHOOSE THEM TOO!)

❗️comments:

- some companies really straight up told me that they dont enjoy working here and if im looking for ___ then this place is not for me

- in some interviews, the interviewers hesitated for abit before answering the qn and they kept pausing with things like “uh…” which i marked as a ⛳️RED FLAG ⛳️ bc i felt that they probably didnt enjoy working there and theyre thinking of how to put it in a nicer way 🫢

- some interviewers also gave super short & brief answers, which are red flags to me too!!! 🚨🚨
