Old Money aesthetic

Anyone else loving the old money aesthetic that has been all the rave right now? I can tell you that I’m quickly becoming obsessed with this style. It’s such an easy aesthetic to achieve especially if you already have that capsule wardrobe in place. Old money aesthetic is also known as quiet luxury, which in my opinion is just one part of what embodies the trend.

Think style icons like Jackie Kennedy and Princess Diana and travel destinations like the Hamptons, Lake Como, and iconic brands such as Ralph Lauren and Hermes.

Well I’m also here to tell you that even if you can’t afford to dress like an elite, you can still achieve the look. In this post I’ll be breaking down how I styled this chic and timeless ‘Old Money Style’ inspired outfit.

1. I wanted to keep my look monochromatic and of course, simple. This top I’m wearing here is from Massimo Dutti. It’s simple yet so chic. I love the white trim around the neck — it just adds a bit of elegance while also adding some diversity to this monochrome look. It’s a classic and can be worn so many different ways — definitely the perfect top to add to your summer wardrobe. I do however, recommend sizing down if you purchase — it tends to run on the larger side. For reference, I’m wearing a size small.

2. I added a pair of pleated shorts for more of a polished look. Owning at least one pair of these whether they’re trousers or shorts is a must for this aesthetic — they’re a true closet staple you’ll have for years and will instantly elevate your look. When choosing a handbag, go for more of a structured bag made from luxurious, good quality materials and stick to classic shades like black, brown, or beige to maintain that elegant appearance. Remember to keep your jewelry gold and minimal — less is more when creating your ‘Old Money’ aesthetic look.
