HOW TO WEAR BLACK IN THE SUMMERTIME

Of all colors, black always reigns supreme when it comes to versatility, practicality, not to mention - it’s the most widely flattering color on all body types. It’s truly a color that can instantly add a classic touch to any outfit — It’s simple, timeless, and always looks chic.

Below I’ll be sharing some tips on how to perfect an all black look during the summertime.

1. ITS ALL ABOUT THE FABRICS: For wearing black in the summer, it really is all about the fabric. You’ll be miserably hot if you’re wearing a black dress that’s polyester just because it’s in your closet. Instead grab the breathable more natural fabrics that are meant for the heat like linen and cotton. Here I styled this all back look by incorporating a linen button and and a pair of flowy, light weight trousers. When creating a summer capsule wardrobe, I would include a linen button down, without a doubt! It is a definite summer appropriate fabric and a piece you’ll have on rotation all summer long. I own my fair share of button downs, since they’re a classic piece that will truly never go out of style.

2. WEAR GOLD JEWELRY: I will say this time and time again – accessories and jewelry completely make an outfit! I’m a true believer in accessorizing any look with jewelry because it completes the outfit and makes it look more polished. Gold jewelry especially looks amazing and chic with an all black outfit like I’m featuring here because it pops!

3. ADD A SUMMERY HANDBAG AND BELT: Incorporating seasonal textures like a straw bag are important in order to avoid a boring look. I chose this raffia bag from Loewe. This bag is the newest addition in my summer wardrobe this year. She was a slight investment but more importantly this bag is timeless and will be worn every summer. I love the casual vibes and the leather details this bag has which definitely elevates it into more of a handbag and not just a beach bag. Belts are also a great way to create a focal point and ensure that you don’t get lost in the abyss of black fabric! I added this cognac colored belt from Mango to break up this all black look. This is one of my favorite colors to wear during the summer months as it looks incredible against black.
