I previous shared our pws experience in Jeju. As it was a beautiful country and we wanted to capture their scenery as much as possible, we only did outdoor locations for that pws.

Since we had many photos taken outdoors, we were looking for a studio only pws. We preferred simple and clean styles. One of the most known pws studio in Singapore which suits the style we were looking for is Artiz Studio BUT their prices were way out of our budget.

I began searching on 小红书 for pws studios in both Singapore and JB. I enquired with quite a few studios but most have both indoor and outdoor shoots in their packages, I’ll share more about the packages of other studios in another post.

We decided to have our studio pws with I Do Wedding located in JB. We took their basic studio only pws package which includes 1 gown & suit, hair & make up for both of us, all edited soft copies and bed head photo frame. They send us their portfolio for studio shoots categorised into different concepts and we could choose 3 to do for ours or send them reference pictures for the styles we want. The price for this package was RM 1699 when we booked earlier this year.

Before the actual shoot day, we had to go down to their bridal studio for a fitting session. We went in JB for a day and it took around an hour. They have a quite a decent selection of gowns but choices suits were limited. They have grand ball gowns which are commonly seen on 抖音 and simple ones as well. I personally wanted to go with one which is more ✨bling✨ and different from what I wore for the previous pws and for the AD. I tried on a total of 7 gowns and decided to go with the one with a halter neck with some chains on my shoulder to cover my fat arms. They don’t limit you to the number of gowns you can try as long as you find the one you really like ❤️❤️. You can choose the coloured gowns as well if you prefer them but I chose to stick with a white gown.

Choosing the suit was pretty quick as choices were limited. They were categorised according to sizes and designs are not really repeated. My partner was between a 5xl and 6xl and he only wanted black or navy blue suits. So even less choices for him 🤦🏻‍♀️. But anyways they provide alteration for the suits sleeves and pants length as well.

We entered JB early in the morning on the day of the shoot to have a light breakfast before heading to the studio. Their photo studio location was different from their bridal studio but it was just across the road. The studio wasn’t big but they were able to have numerous backdrops and sets available. Their makeup artist Xiao Qi started on my makeup at 11am which took around 45 minutes before I changed into the gown and do up my hair. I requested for a Thai look which is more suited for my features. Then my husband changed into his suit and got his hair and makeup done as well. He chose to wear the suit without a tie or a bow tie for a more casual look which turned out great!

The photographer, Jaz had a short discussion with us to understand the style we want better and to set some expectations. She mentioned that unlike the pws we did in Jeju which focused more on the scenery, studio shoots will focus more on the details and expressions. We started the shoot at around 1pm. For the first concept we chose 高级月亮光影 which had an off white background and later on edited to have moon and cloud effects behind. For this concept it’s more dreamy and romantic. For the second concept we chose 轻奢灰背景 which had a plan grey backdrop. We did more cool/chic 😎 expressions and poses for it. The last concept we did was 星河灿烂 which had a black backdrop with a spot light shining us from the top and later on editing in some smoke and glitters. I’ve seen many people doing this concept on 小📕 but if not edited right it can turn out quite unnatural. We ended slightly before 3pm and headed back to Singapore on the same day.

We received all the edited photos around 1.5 months after the shoot itself. We were allowed to choose up to 10 photos to be further edited but we were happy with those we received. We then had to select which photo we wanted for the bed head photo frame and the design of frame as well.

Overall we really enjoyed our experience at I Do Wedding. Xiao Qi was around the whole shoot to adjust my hair and gown for me. Jaz also guided us very well with clear instructions and even helped us to position our body and even where to look. They made the shoot very comfortable and most importantly it was at a very affordable price!
