Toshikazu Kawaguchi's intriguing series (currently 4 books released!) transports readers to a Tokyo café where time bends and memories were revisited. With the mysterious rules of time travel, readers like us get to explore themes of love, sorrow, and redemption, with profound emotion and great narrative. 🥹 Each story provides a bittersweet look into the lives of its characters. However, even “when you go back, no matter how hard you try, the present won't change.” Would you still take the chance? This is a question I pondered on while reading this series! 🙂‍↔️

Each book consists of 4 stories. Raw emotions, heartfelt writing and surrealism has made this book an exceptional and meaningful one. Each story is profound in its wisdom, bringing you to a level of uniqueness and genuine connections with the characters. I’ve gained insights from different perspectives, leaving me in my reflective space and feeling a sense of gratitude. 🙏🏻💭🧐

The fifth book welcomes four new guests (yay!):

• a father who could not allow his daughter to get married.

• a woman who couldn't give Valentine's Day chocolates to her loved one.

• a boy who wants to show his smile to his divorced parents.

• a wife holding a child with no name.

Overall, I will rate this series a 3.5/5 stars! Reason being some parts are slow-moving and can actually get quite repetitive - e.g. the rules of the café are repeated about 3-4 times. Nonetheless, try it and let me know what you think!
