If you are in the Tsim Sha Tsui area when visiting Hong Kong, you definitely need to check out the Shanghai pan fried buns at Cheung Hing Kee Shanghai Pan Fried Buns!
When we arrived, there was a queue but it was relatively fast. There arefew tables for eating (only one row at the front of the shop) and most people either ordered takeaway or ate standing up.
🥡 We ordered the signature and crab roe bun set for HKD 78 (SGD 13). There were 2 buns each and came in a box.
Signature bun
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The dough of the bun was thin and crispy at the bottom. Meat filling was generous and there was a burst of soup when you bite into the bun. Very tasty!
🦀 Crab roe bun
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Similar to the signature bun but instead of pork soup, the soup was made using crab roe. We could taste the flavours of the crab roe and really enjoyed this fusion rendition.
👍 Highly recommended to try these pan fried buns!
