literally one of the best and easiest ways to protect your skin's appearance and health at any age is to WEAR SUNSCREEN! 🧴

🌞 how sun exposure damages your skin

• UVA rays: speed up aging; UVB rays: burn your skin

• while the skin has natural defense mechanism but it's insufficient to protect against excessive sun exposure

• long-term damage like wrinkles, sagging skin, age spots await

🌞 how sunscreen helps protect your skin

• physical sunscreen: often contain active minerals which work to reflect and scatter light; acts as physical barrier that stop UV radiation from penetrating your skin (suitable for acne-prone & sensitive skin)

• chemical sunscreen: absorbs UV radiation and ensure that sunlight only reaches as far as the skin’s topmost layers (more cosmetically acceptable as they do not leave a white sticky cast)

🌞 how much SPF & PA level is enough

• SPF: higher rating means more protection from UVB rays for a longer time

• PA: more + signs after means a higher level of protection against UVA; recommended for at least +++ to prevent premature ageing & skin cancer

🌞 my favourite sunscreens atm

1) cell fusion c laser sunscreen 100

• love it because of the golden ratio of inorganic & organic UV filters & good for sensitive skin!!

• leaves a lil white cast because it is a physical sunscreen too

2) beauty of joseon relief sun

• love it because it uses rice extract - an classic asian beauty ingredient with a long history of being used to brighten skin and soften hair

• personal preference but i don't really fancy the smell!

3) supergoop! (re)setting refreshing mist

• love it because it's super easy & fuss-free to reapply throughout the day

• my skin is slightly sensitive to this chemical sunscreen so it took a while for it to settle into my skin

4) supergoop! unseen sunscreen

• love it because it's suitable for an active person like me since it's water & sweat resistant 💯

• i didn't really fancy the smell of this sunscreen too!

5) supergoop! glowscreen

• love it because it's a multifunctional as a primer for makeup + slight shimmery effect it gives

• it's a chemical sunscreen so it took a while for my skin to get used to it!

i have yet to decide on which is my ultimate fav because each of them have different uses & USPs. but one thing for sure - i always put on my sunscreen before i leave the house!! 🧴 (that's the number 1 skincare tip for anyone)
