CHARLESTON: SULLIVAN’S ISLAND GUIDE

Charleston is a charming southern city with plenty to do - including a beach day! Sullivan’s Island is just outside of the city center with a laidback feel.

🌴 The drive is 20-30 minutes from downtown. You can drive or call an Uber. Note that it took us a while to get an Uber on the way back to downtown, though, so give yourself some extra time.

🌴 Eat lunch at The Obstinate Daughter for southern fusion cuisine. I recommend sharing pizzas ($17-$21), pastas ($25-$29), and starters (starting at $9). The upper indoor deck and lower outdoor deck are both a great place to sit.

🌴 Catch happy hour at The Longboard on weekdays from 11am-5pm and weekends from 3pm to 5pm. I recommend the $10 frozen cocktails or $6 wine! The vibe is very tropical and definitely puts you in a beach mood.

🌴 Walk to Sullivan's Island Beach and soak up the sun! Even if it’s not warm enough to swim, the walk past the marsh and beautiful homes is still worth it!
