My top 3 matcha places in Japan 🇯🇵 🍵 (with address)

As you know, matcha is primarily cultivated in japan and they are pretty known for it too! Personally, i LOVE matcha anything, matcha cake, matcha ice cream, matcha sweets, matcha chocolate, matcha latte/bbt and all things matcha hahaha anyways you get the idea! I’ve tried a bunch of matcha in Japan and here are my top 3 MUST TRY matcha 🤭

1. CAFÉ Mori no Terrace 杜のテラス

📍1 Yoyogikamizonocho, Shibuya City, Tokyo 151-0052, Japan

This was a surprising find! After exploring the Meiji shrine for a good 30-40 mins, i was on my way out of the forest and i chanced upon this place. I ordered a matcha latte with whipped cream 🤭 it was surprisingly good, very thick matcha that’s not overly sweet!

2. THE MATCHA TOKYO 表参道

📍 5 Chome-11-13 Jingumae, Shibuya City, Tokyo 150-0001, Japan

i think this place needs no introduction. Similarly, i did not search up any matcha place beforehand i was walking around harajuku and the first thing that caught my eyes was the minimalistic white shophouse. I queued for about 15-20 mins before getting a matcha latte with coconut ice cream. The unsweetened matcha latte paired with coconut ice cream really balanced out the bitterness of the matcha itself. AHHH IT WAS HEAVEN 🤭

3. Kaminari-Issa 雷一茶

I talked about this in my previous post, i think the sweetness comes from the honey. I prefer my matcha to be a little more on the bitter side instead and this was just amazing. It was so amazing that i bought their house brand matcha powder back to SG and now i’m having it ALMOST everyday 😋
