fun recipes for date night (even if u cant cook) 💕

I wrote down the grocery store list you would need, excluding more common things that you should be able to find in your pantry already.

TWO TIPS for a successful date night cooking night:

1. A lot of the things we got were pre-cooked or just needed some easy preparation! Since we wanted to do three/four courses each night, this was to ensure we don’t get too tired or have too many dishes to do at the end of it hehe. We usually would just have one main dish that actually required proper cooking.

2. These recipes are fun because they have an element of ✨collaboration✨ which makes it more interactive / bonding-y as opposed to something that only needs one person to cook.

3. We usually try to have one “fancy” ingredient / dish so we don’t feel like we’re entirely skimping on what would have been a “fancy” date night out. But totally optional of course!

💕 list 1: japanese night

supermarket: you can get everything from donki

🤍 starter: grilled chicken thigh with yuzu kosho

ㅁ grilled chicken skewers - $2.50 each

ㅁ yuzu pepper paste

🤍 main: uni + soy ikura sushi and curry udon

ㅁ fresh uni - around $58 (tip: look for the ones that are brighter orange!)

ㅁ soy ikura

ㅁ curry cubes

ㅁ frozen udon - just need to microwave for 2mins

ㅁ onsen eggs

ㅁ 200g of shabu2 beef for $10!

🤍 dessert: ice cream hehe and chocolate souffle cake

ㅁ choco cheesecake souffle cake

ㅁ matcha ice cream sandwich

💕 list 2: kimbap + steak night

supermarket: donki + ntuc fairprice

🤍main:

ㅁ spam lite

ㅁ kyuri cucumbers - $2/pack or something

ㅁ carrots

ㅁ pickled radish yellow

ㅁ seaweed sheets

ㅁ instant rice cus we lazy!!!! + rice vinegar and brown sugar

ㅁ sesame oil to season all your blanched veg with

ㅁ (optional) toasted sesame seeds for garnish

ㅁ steak (just cooked on a pan and seasoned with salt)

🤍dessert

ㅁ puff pastry sheets

ㅁ any fillings you would want!! I used nutella, peanut butter, bananas and we just had fun with it.

ㅁ egg for egg wash
