1️⃣ Budget your food within the $$ range

In Australia, their minimum wage is from $20 and above/hour, so do expect your food to cost a little more than what you usually pay for in Singapore! $20 a meal in Australia is considered on the cheaper range already!

2️⃣ Metro (MRT) Cards

Over there in Sydney, some of them are “gated”, while some aren’t. Really a game of integrity. But still, just in case a train operator comes up to check, you’ll be fined for $200AUD (if I’m not wrong) if you’re checked & you didn’t tap your metro card!

3️⃣ Your Place

We stayed a little more on the estate-homes area but it was very chill and it felt like the “real Sydney”. (Comparing Singapore’s MBS & HDB). Can be a little “scarier” at night ngl, heard most people would rather stay near to city central. But overall rather easy to get around in Sydney, so had no issues with accoms.

4️⃣ Lifestyle

By 4.30am, the trains are 🆙 and running, and without saying, goes the same for the workers! People there start and end their day early, so by 7/8pm (on a good day), most shopping places are already closed. If you’re talking about a gauge, by 5pm, most shops are already preparing to close for the day. For food wise, guess McDonald’s is your get-go if you’re hungry + get some grocery!

5️⃣ VISA

Did you know? Travelling to Australia from Singapore requires you to hold a traveller visa (one year validity from the date of approval)
