Growing your glutes is a goal many people aspire to, and it involves a dedicated approach in the gym. Your gluteal muscles, primarily the gluteus maximus, respond well to exercises like squats, deadlifts, lunges, and hip thrusts, which emphasize lower body strength and development.

These compound movements help target and stimulate the glutes effectively, but might not be the most adequate for beginners… if you’re a beginner in the gym looking to grow your glutes try these exercises!

•dumbbell hip thrust : grab a heavy(ish) dumbbell and lean your back against a bench. Using your glutes push up through your hips, keeping your back straight.

•laying hamstring curls: pretty straight forward. Laying and slow tension on the way down, even add a hold at the top!!

•sumo squat : grab a heavy dumbbell and get into a widened squat stance. Squeeze your glutes on the way up, and slow on the way down!

Remember: a balanced diet with adequate protein and overall caloric intake supports muscle growth and repair!
