lola's cafe is actually WORTH THE HYPE! 🪴

i finally made it to lola's cafe after hearing so much about it for the past year and i can confidently say that it was well worth the wait! since the simon road outlet is currently closed for renovations, my friend and i decide to head to holland v's, which is well-known for its warm homely and earthy-toned aesthetic 🏡

1️⃣ i adore the atmosphere created in the cafe! aside from the location, i like how the various fixtures and decor all contribute to the homey atmosphere. this alone makes it a great hangout spot and coming here on a friday night proves it 🥂

2️⃣ the menu is not only diverse, but the dishes are also one-of-a-kind! i'll elaborate more on this as i reviewed the dishes but if you ask me which is my favourite, it has to be the spicy crab rigatoni! read on to find out why 🤭

🍄 mushroom & ricotta ravioli — this one is for those who prefer cream-like pasta! With a strong mushroom truffle flavor and some nuts for crunch, each bite of the ravioli makes you want more🤤 my friend who had this dish, on the other hand, said she felt quite jelat and couldn't finish it in the end. tldr: this might not be everyone's favourite but it's still worth a shot!

🦀 spicy crab rigatoni — as mentioned earlier, this is my favourite dish out of the three! the sauce itself is very filling, with a strong flavor of cream and spice. it's also not as spicy as the name implies, making it ideal for those with a low spice tolerance! the best part is that you won't feel jelat at all while eating this dish, making it the true star of our dinner🤩 not to mention, the portion for the crab meat is extremely generous in my opinion!

🥔 loaded tater tots — to be honest, i was disappointed with this dish because i expected the tater tots to be crispier rather than dry. though the ketchup sauce and large portion size compensate, i would probably order another small bite from the menu on my next visit🤧 if you want a place that serves generous amounts of crispy tater tots, my personal favorite so far is pancake and waffle place which is also $6 cheaper.

overall, i'd say that my visit to lola's cafe was well worth it and i was pleasantly surprised by the lively atmosphere along holland v. this will undoubtedly be my cue to not only return to this outlet but also to explore the surrounding area! if there is one takeaway from this post, it is that the cafe truly lives up to its hype and that you should go if you haven't already 🥰
