fun fall day trip outside of nyc!

If you’re looking for something to do in the fall and you live in New York City, this is the perfect day trip to get festive and enjoy the nature in New York!

Just two hours outside of the city, you will find the Inspiration Point hike. This hike is full of insane views of the yellow, orange, and red leaves that cover upstate New York from start to finish. The hike takes about 2.5 hours to complete the whole loop and it is a pretty easy hike with no crazy inclines.

The hike is right next to the adorable town of Saugerties, NY, where you can find cute houses, antique stores, and cafes and restaurants! If you’re looking to do some antiquing, check out Pop Vintage Antiques for a great and unique collection. The cutest cafes in the center of town are Ohana Cafe for a more modern vibe or Josie’s Coffee Shop for a more homey feel. For some lunch I’d recommend either Miss Lucy’s Kitchen or Olsen & Company.

You can also find a cider mill (an essential fall activity) just 30 minutes away on the way back to the city where you can grab hot cider, donuts, and pumpkins! It’s about $30 per person depending on how much you want to buy!

This is the perfect day trip to take pre-Halloween to get in the festive mood!
