🍋 Hello, Lemon8 Fam! 🌏💖

Welcome to the launch of a brand new series—my Honeymoon Series! Today, I'm excited to delve into the financial details of our incredible 23-day honeymoon across China. Believe it or not, we managed to keep our total costs to just $6K for two, excluding our photoshoot (more on that soon!). We experienced luxury hotels, a mix of full-service and budget airlines, and even indulged in first-class train travel.

Breaking Down the Budget 💸

Here's how we allocated our honeymoon budget across different categories, ensuring we maximized every dollar without compromising on the experience:

Flights & Trains ($999) ✈️🚞

We took three one-way flights and three train rides, blending budget with luxury. We experienced the benefits of full-service airlines like Eastern China Airlines & Air China, where amenities like baggage and meals are included—definitely a perk worth considering! Our first-class train tickets provided ample legroom and comfort, perfect for traveling with luggage.

Accommodations ($2,519) 🏨

We stayed in 4-star (and above) hotels, each chosen for its exceptional amenities like bathtubs and stunning views, with prices ranging from $80-$170 per night. The photos linked in this post show just how fabulous each place was—stay tuned for detailed posts about each hotel!

Tour Packages ($466) 🗻

We selected two specific day-trip tours (Stone Forest & Jade Snow Mountain) because of their logistical challenges and the need for transport. These were our splurges in terms of guided activities, chosen for their unique locations and breathtaking scenery.

DiDi - their version of Grab ($231) 🚕

DiDi was our go-to for transportation within cities. Affordable and convenient, it was a game-changer in navigating China’s bustling city life and scenic rural areas, averaging $2-$3 per ride.

Food & Drinks ($1,575) 🍚🍜

From street food to high-end hotpots, we savored a wide array of Chinese cuisine, spending an average of $68 daily. The affordability and variety of local food and beverages were simply unmatched.

Shopping ($514) 🛒

While not big shoppers, we couldn’t resist picking up some unique clothing items. Prices were comparable to Singapore, but the quality and style were well worth it. I'll share more about our favorite shopping spots in an upcoming post.

Entertainment ($399) 💆‍♀️🎤

We indulged in massages, KTV, and even a chic nail session. The value for money was incredible, especially the massage sessions which included private rooms and complimentary services.

Conclusion 🍋

Our honeymoon in China was not only a journey of a lifetime but also a testament to how affordable and luxurious a well-planned trip can be. For those looking for a lengthy yet budget-friendly holiday, China offers an unbeatable combination of adventure, culture, and relaxation.

I'm eager to dive deeper into each aspect of our trip in upcoming posts, so stay tuned! And let me know in the comments what aspects of the honeymoon you're most curious about or if you have specific questions about planning a similar adventure.

Till the next post, keep exploring and dreaming big!
