Let’s talk about vaginal health! Growing up as a preteen and teenager, vaginal health was not something I learned from women in my life unfortunately. Through my college years I learned more about vaginal health and how to take care of my body. I would have loved to have this knowledge as a teenager, but now that I do know - I can share these tips with my own daughter!
▪️Boric acid after period - I like to use boric acid suppositories, especially after my period to restore my ph balance.My favorite brand is pH-D!
▪️Cotton underwear - It’s healthier to wear cotton undies because it’s a breathable material! It absorbs extra moisture and prevents a build up of odor.
▪️Sleeping in the nude gives my vagina 7+ hours to air out and can help avoid yeast infections.
▪️Peeing after sex can help flush out any bacteria from your urethra and help prevent UTIs.
▪️Change tampons/pads often!
▪️Changing clothes after exercising - I always make sure to take off my gym fit after a workout, I cannot stand being in sweaty clothes longer than I need to! Most gym clothing is made out of fabrics that aren’t exactly sweat wicking. Bacteria and yeast love sweaty environments so to help eliminate that I remove my gym clothes as soon as I get home!
▪️Drink lots of water!
