What I Spend In A Week + A Surprise

The first week of August is done, meaning it’s time to track what I spent. My goal for this month is at the end of the week to sit down and track my expenses to help me figure out my new budget as my income/rent is changing.

This week my total spending was: $623.06

In addition, my income was: $736

For me, this is a lot of spending for one week each, especially since no bills were included, but there is a special reason why I spent so much.

This past week I adopted a cat. It happened so fast that Wednesday, I was filling out the adoption forms, and Saturday, she was coming home with me. I am so happy I got her, and every penny was worth it. She’s the first cat I have on my own (I’ve had cats my whole life growing up at my parents), so I had to get her all new stuff. I have to get her some more stuff, so I know this expense will be more this month.

When it comes to other areas, I did not spend as much.

• Groceries: $244.45

• Health: $22.54

• Miscellaneous: $68.64

• signed up for 5k -> $50

• movie ticket and food -> $18

• Mika: $258.43

• Stan Store: $29

Overall, given my surprise this week, I am happy with what I spent. I went to Costco and did my big grocery hall and got a bunch of supplies for my apartment for the month, so I probably won’t do much grocery shopping for the rest of the month either. I do count everything at Costco as groceries, even though probably $75 was household items. There were also one-time purchases such as the run, cat items, and the barbie movie.

Did anyone see the Barbie movie? How did you like it? I like it and thought the message was good.

This week my goal is to spend less! I want to have 4 no spending days out of the 5 day week.
