Planning your first trip to Seoul? Here's a list of bucket list-worthy things you must absolutely do in Seoul!! π
πΈ Hanbok Rental
Hanbok experience is a MUST in Korea. Dress in a hanbok and walk around Gyeongbokgung like you're in a kdrama!!π We rented ours from Hanboknam on Klook, which was only a 5-minute walk fromΒ Gyeongbokgung station. They provide a wide selection of hanboks to choose from, as well as accessories to match and hairstyling services! (Prices vary for accessories and different hairstyles) Definitely one of the highlights of our trip!
πΈ Hongdae Photobooths
Self-photobooths and studios are all over the streets of Seoul. If youβre exploring Hongdae, you should totally stop by one and take some cute pics!! π Most of them are 4000-5000 won for 2 strips, which is about $4 -$5 sgd?? So #WorthIt
π Han River Views
Enjoy a beautiful sunset along the Han River! We went to Banpo Han River Park to chill and picnic. Thereβs also this special ramyun machine where you can cook ramyun in paper containers in convenient stores near the Hangang River Park, which truly impressed me!π€©
π’ Lotte World
Lotte World has both indoor and outdoor attractions, and I must say, the rides really lived up to expectations! (Especially Atlantis ride) On the flip side, the wait time was incredibly long (about 40min-2h per ride) so do expect to queue or you could get an express pass to skip the queue!! For the best experience and photos, we even rented school uniform from Gamsung Gyobok on Kkday!
π Try Local Dishes
My spice tolerance is probably among the lowest, yet eating spicy food in Korea just hits different. You gotta try the street food! We chanced upon a random street stall and their tteokbokki and eomuk combo was amazing.. π On one of our nights, we also tried chimaek (chicken + beer), which was one of the tastiest chicken with beer I've ever eaten!!π
βοΈ Cafe Hopping
Seoul has heaps of trendy cafes and hip bars! They have cafes everywhere from well-known chains, aesthetically pleasing cafes where you can take instagrammable photos and enjoy the vibes.π We visited several cafΓ©s and bars, including Cafe Onion Anguk, Boomers Cafe and Art Monster.
π Shop & Thrift
Fill your bag with Kbeauty products from Olive Young, or begin your shopping spree in Hongdae, where you can find trendy k-fashion trends and even vintage thrift shops. We came across Seoul Vintage in Hongdae, which has a broad selection of designs and brands that piqued our interest. Some brands include Burberry, YSL, Ralph Lauren, and Carhartt.π» They even have reworked pieces! For more shopping, visit the Express Bus Terminal Underground Shopping Mall, where you can find more local clothing brands and even bargain for the best deals! π
Pro tip: Bring cash when you shop because they prefer it and it will be significantly easier to bargain!! π
