Travel Dreams Do Come True

Since I was little, I always dreamed of seeing the world. I grew up in a part of Houston where we didn't have much and rarely met people from different cultures. But, I always felt there was more out there. Maybe the free National Geographic magazines from my mom’s job sparked my interest. I was determined to see the world somehow. When I turned 20, I moved to New York and was excited to start my adventure. After a few months, I realized it wasn't for me. So, I found a way to leave the country, went back home to pack, and left in just two months. I lived in Ghana for 8 months, experiencing cool nights and almost passing out from the dry season’s heat. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and fan myself with the front door while half-asleep! On my way back from Ghana, I stopped in Malta to check off my first bucket list adventure. Malta is beautiful. It showed me that I wasn't going to stop traveling anytime soon. After that, I started planning to see the world regularly. I visited Nicaragua and "volcano boarded" down Cerro Negro. Then, I went to Bali on a solo trip to relax after a tough time in my life. I took it slow and felt what it was like to rest for the first time in years. I stopped living in survival mode and began living again. Soon after, I saw the monarch butterfly migration and visited Morocco. It's been a fantastic adventure, and I can't wait to see what else I get to do in my lifetime.
